Sew What!

I have a confession...about three and half years ago I got a sewing machine and I have never used it!  Yes, yes I know you are thinking why not?  Well I got it right before I had Preston, and then there was always something taking up my time...until now!  I decided to learn how to use it.  Last night I got it all threaded and ready to go.  I didnt get a chance to sew anything...I got called out to the garage to help work on the car.  Yes I said work on the car.  My husband has been rebuilding his car and its FINALLY done!  But thats a different post.
Anyways I would love it if you guys that do sew give me some pointers.  Are there any products that I should pickup?  I basically have the machine, and a little sewing kit.  Any projects that I should start with?  Looking forward to seeing what you guys have to say.

  2. I have no helpful comments but just wanted to say I am so jealous. I have been begging for a sewing machine but the husband says I'll never use it. He just doesn't understand for the money I'll save hemming one set of curtains the machine will pay for itself! Can't wait to see what projects you end up with!

  5. be patient! that is my biggest fault as a crafter/sewer. i get too anxious about the final result that i just can't take it when i have to take out a seam or fix something

  6. Just found you on Friday Follow or Blog Hop or something like that, either way I am glad I did and am your newest follower. I, too, got a sewing machine that I have only used to make giant floor pillows for my boys (note I made something that only entailed sewing 3 straight lines). I wish that I knew how to use all it's fancy features, maybe one day...
